Never use a light socket.
Never connect the live (L) or neutral (N)
wires to the earth pin marked E or .
Fitting a mains plug to 115 V units
(U.K. & Ireland only)
• The plug should be fitted by a competent person.
If you are in doubt, contact an authorized
DEWALT repair agent or a qualified electrician.
The wires are coloured according to the following
code:
live = brown
neutral = blue
• Do not connect the blue or brown wire to the
earth terminal in the plug.
Connect as follows:
- brown to terminal marked ‘L’
- blue to terminal marked ‘N’
The plug fitted should comply with BS EN 60309
(BS4343), 32 Amps.
Always ensure that the cable clamp is
correctly and securely fitted to the
sheath of the cable.
Using an extension cable
If an extension cable is required, use an approved
extension cable suitable for the power input of this
tool (see technical data). The minimum conductor
size is 1.5 mm

. When using a cable reel, always
unwind the cable completely.

Assembly and adjustment
Prior to assembly and adjustment always
unplug the tool.
Bench mounting (fig. A)
Mounting holes (8) have been provided to facilitate
bench mounting.
Removing and fitting a cutting disc (fig. B)
• Press and hold down the spindle lock (5).
• Rotate the cutting disc until it locks.
• Using the Allen key (8 mm) located in the holder
in the tool base, remove the disc retaining bolt
(10) by turning counterclockwise and then
remove the flat washer (11) and the outer
retaining flange (12).
• Release the spindle lock (5).
• Replace the cutting disc and secure it with the
outer retaining flange (12) and flat washer (11)
and the disc retaining bolt (10).
Clamping the workpiece in position (fig. C, F & G)
Your DEWALT chopsaw is equipped with a material
clamp (6).
• Pull the lever (19) in the direction of the arrow (15).
• Push the clamp shaft (13) forward until the jaw (14)
is almost touching the workpiece.
• Press the lever (19) in the direction of arrow (16)
until it engages with the clamp shaft (13).
• Rotate the handle (17) clockwise and clamp the
workpiece securely.
• To release the workpiece, rotate the handle (17)
counterclockwise.
• To increase the cutting capacity, place a
spacer block (26) under the workpiece
(25). The spacer block should be slightly
narrower than the workpiece (fig. F).
