Operation
Testboy® 26 15
Modular check (adapter)
Carry out all necessary checks using the adapter (e.g. RJ11 or RJ45 plug to check a telephone
line or twisted cable).
Flashlight
Switch on the integrated flashlight using the switch (7).
Maintenance
With exception of the battery, the Testboy® 26 is maintenance-free.
In order to replace the battery, disconnect all measurement lines, remove the screw on the bat-
tery compartment and replace the battery with the same type.
Observe the correct polarity.
Batteries must not be disposed of with normal domestic waste. There will be a col-
lection point near you!
Cleaning
Use a cloth moist with mild household cleaning agent to clean the instrument daily. Do not use an
aggressive cleaning agent or solvent to clean the instrument.
Definition of the overvoltage categories
Measurement category II: Measurements on the power circuits that have a direct plug connection
to the low voltage network. Normal short-circuit current < 10 kA.
Measurement category III: Measurements within the building installation (stationary consumer
devices with non-plug-in connection, distributor connection, permanently installed equipment in
the distributor).
Normal short-circuit current < 50 kA.
Measurement category IV: Measurements at the source of the low voltage installation (meters,
mains connection, primary overcurrent protection). Normal short-circuit current >> 50 kA.
When establishing the measurement category for a combination of test probe assembly and
measuring instrument, the lowest category, either of the test probe assembly or the measuring in-
strument, always applies.
