vice. The installation should only be
carried out by a qualified electrician.
DANGER! Risk of electric
shock
~ Only connect the plug-in power unit to
a properly installed and easily accessi-

5. Charging
NOTES:
Charge the battery for at least 2 hours
before using the device for the first
time. After that, a charging time of
90 minutes is sufficient.
In order to increase the service life of
the battery, we recommend …
to use the device regularly and with-
out long storage times,
to discharge the battery prior to the
charging procedure (LED 00|7 is
shown, display is lit red).
•The display|7 shows the capacity/
charging state of the battery in percent
(00, 10, ... ,100 in increments of ten).
The display …
is lit blue, when the device is
switched on or being charged.
… is lit red, if the battery is almost dis-
charged. After the display lighting
changes to red only
one
normal
shave is still possible. The display is
still lit red for a short time when
charging, until the battery has
reached a capacity of approx. 10
%
.
It takes about 5 minutes to charge the
device sufficiently for one shave.
When the battery is fully charged, the
device can be used for approximately
90 minutes without being connected to
the power supply.
1. Switch off the device with the on/off
switch|6 if necessary.
2. Connect the plug-in power unit|13 to
the socket|8 on the device.
3. Insert the plug-in power unit|13 in into
an easily accessible wall socket, the
voltage of which corresponds to the
rating plate.

6. Operation
6.1 Before switching on for
the first time
CAUTION:
~ after unpacking, there could still be oil
residues on the shaving foils. Remove
these with an absorbent, lint-free cloth
before using the device for the first
time.
6.2 Switching on and off
Irrespective of the battery’s charging status,
the device can be used at any time in mains
operation.
1. In order to use the power pack, ensure
that the device is switched off.
2. Connect the plug-in power unit|13 to
the socket|8 on the device.
3. Insert the plug-in power unit|13 in into
an easily accessible wall socket, the
voltage of which corresponds to the
rating plate.
4. Remove the protective lid|10 before
switching on.
5. To switch on the device, push the on/
off switch|6.
6. When switching on ...
the display is lit blue,
the charging state is shown,
the lock symbol briefly appears on
the display|7.
7. To switch off the device,
push the on/off
switch|6 again
.
6.3 Transport lock
If the transport lock is activated, a lock sym-
bol appears on the display|7.
Press and hold the on/off switch|6 for
approx. 3 seconds, in order to switch
the transport lock on/off.
Connecting the plug-in power unit|13
deactivates the transport lock, which
cannot be activated during mains op-
eration.
6.4 Shaving
DANGER! Risk of electric
shock!
~ The hand-held device and the plug-in
power unit are not waterproof and are
therefore not allowed to be used in a
shower/bath.
WARNING!
~ Do not use the device on open
wounds, cuts, sunburn or blisters.
~ Do not place excessive pressure on the
shaving foils|1. They are thin and can
be damaged easily.
NOTES:
The device is suitable for both dry and
wet shaving (Wet & Dry).
Initial use may cause temporary irritation
or redness of the skin, as the skin has to
adjust to shaving. This is normal and usu-
ally lasts between 2 and 4 weeks.
Dry shaving (Rechargeable bat-
tery and mains operation)
Hold the device at a right angle to the
skin surface and gently guide it over
your face.
Shave against the direction of your
beard growth.

GB
Stretch your skin in complicated areas,
such as the chin, to achieve better re-
sults.
Switch off the device after shaving,
clean the parts carefully (chapter
"Cleaning and maintenance of the de-
vice" on page 10) and place the pro-
tective lid|10 onto the shaving head|3
to protect the shaving foils|1 and the
long hair trimmer|11.
Wet shaving (only for battery
operation)
DANGER! Risk of electric
shock!
~ The hand-held device and the plug-in
power unit|13 are not waterproof.
Wet shaving is only allowed
when us-
ing battery power.
WARNING! Risk of material damage!
~ For wet shaving use shaving foam or
lather only; never use shaving gel or
shaving cream. This could adhere to
the cutter blocks|12.
Before shaving, smooth a thin layer of
shaving foam on your face.
Shave your face as described in the
chapter "Dry shaving (Rechargeable
battery and mains operation)".
If shaving foam should clog the shav-
ing head|3, clean the shaving head
under running water (chapter "Clean-
ing and maintenance of the device" on
page 10).
Cutting long hair
Use the long hair trimmer|11 on the back
of the shaver to shorten your beard and
sideburns.
1. Take off the protective lid|10.
2. Push the long hair trimmer|11 up.
3. Switch on the shaver with the on/off|6
switch.
4. After use, switch the device off, slide
the long hair trimmer|11 back to its
original position and clean the device
(chapter "Cleaning and maintenance
of the device" on page 10).
Designer stubble
NOTE: depending on beard growth and
shaving, the appearance of a designer
stubble can vary greatly.
To maintain a designer stubble look, shave
dry with an attached protective lid|10 reg-
ularly. In this case, the protective lid acts as
a designer stubble attachment.
Shave your face as described in the
chapter "Dry shaving (Rechargeable
battery and mains operation)".
Cleaning symbol
The device's built-in timer adds up the shav-
ing times. After 30 minutes of shaving time
the cleaning symbol on the display|7
begins to flash. It is a reminder to clean the
device regularly. If you switch off the device
while the cleaning symbol is flashing, the
timer will start back at the beginning when
counting the shaving time.

~ The shaving head|3 can be cleaned
under running water. Disconnect the
device from the plug-in power unit ca-
ble|13 prior to doing so.
~ The plug-in power unit and the corre-
sponding cable|13 must not be held
under running water and must not be
immersed in other liquids.
WARNING! Risk of material damage!
~ Do not use any astringent or abrasive
cleaning agents.
~ Do not place excessive pressure on the
shaving foils|1. They are thin and can
be damaged easily.
~ Use the cleaning brush|14 for clean-
ing the cutter block|12 only. Under no
circumstances should the shaving
foils|1 be cleaned with it.
NOTE: to ensure a consistently smooth
shave, the device must be cleaned and
maintained regularly.
Cleaning after every dry shave
1. Press both release buttons|4 and take
off the shaving foil frame|2.
2. Tap the shaving foil frame|2 carefully.

shaving foils|1) with a slightly mois-
tened cloth.
2. Press the release button|9. The shaving
head|3 opens up.
3. Hold the device facing down and rinse
the cutter blocks|12 and the shaving
foil frame|2 in the shaving head|3 un-

10. Disposal
Removing the battery
This device is operated with a re-
chargeable lithium-ion battery, which
you must remove before disposing of
the device.
You must be technically minded to re-
move the battery, otherwise there is the
danger of injuring yourself. If you do not
have any experience with tools, you
should have the battery removed by a
person who is qualified to do this.
DANGER from batteries!
~ Ensure that the battery is not damaged
as you remove it. Fire hazard!
~ The removed battery must not be disas-
sembled.
~ Never short-circuit the battery. The con-
tacts on the removed battery must not
be connected by metallic objects. The
battery may overheat and explode.
~ Only remove the battery to dispose of
the device. The device is destroyed by
removing the battery. Never try to op-
erate a disassembled device.
1. Disconnect the plug-in power unit|13
from the device.
2. Switch on the device and let it run until
the battery is discharged.
3. Figure C: remove the decorative strip
on the side, along with any adhesive
